Crème Masturbation Cream for Men by Wicked Sensual
Price: $$$$ | Base Type: Oil-Based |
Sex Toy Safe: No | TSA Travel Size: No |
Latex Safe: No | Great for: Masturbation, Stamina training, Anal sex, Massages |
Safety Features: Vegan-Friendly, PETA-Certified, Safe for sensitive skin | Features: Super slick, Long-lasting, Turns from cream to oil, Moisturizing, Made with Coconut oil and Almond oil |
Our best lube for 2024 is a new entry for this year - Crème Masturbation Cream, coming from Wicked Sensual. With its oil-based formula, this lube is extremely slick and long-lasting, starting out as a cream and getting smoother and more slippery as you stroke.
Featuring a blend of coconut oil and sweet almond oil, this lube feels nice and silky during use. The formula also incorporates ingredients including aloe vera leaf juice and vitamin E, both of which help it leave your skin feeling hydrated and moisturized even after you clean it off.
As we mentioned, this lube starts out as a thick cream right out of the bottle and gets increasingly slicker as you start stroking.
Crème gets extremely slippery once you get going, and lasts a good long while before you'll feel the need to add a little more - if you actually last that long.
The oil-based nature of this lube does come with a couple of caveats that we should mention. For one thing, it's not suitable for use with sex toys, so keep it away from your favorite strokers unless you want to damage them. Keep it away from condoms too while you're at it - it'll damage those as well. Furthermore, once you've finished using it, you'll need to use warm, soapy water to clean it up properly.
It's also not intended to be used vaginally but still works incredibly well for anyone with a penis that's using it for masturbation. The formula is also actually vegan-friendly - certified by PETA - which is nice to see as it means more of you will be able to give it a try.
Wicked Cream's Crème masturbation cream is super slick, feels great on the skin, and lasts a very long time. These benefits, along with the fact that the formula is safe for sensitive skin as well as vegan-friendly, all led us to crown this lube as our best for 2024.
Results From Our Testers
- Lasts a very long time before you'll need to add more
- Feels really good on the skin and leaves it nice and moisturized
- Gets really slippery once you get stroking
- You don't need to use a lot at once so the 4 oz bottle will last
- It's a shame you can't use it with sex toys but that's to be expected from oil-based lube

"Great, been using this for year+. Long lasting, nice on the skin, little goes a long way. Great stuff and not messy like liquid coconut oil. Not water based so don't use with toys, it will degrade some of them."

Water-Based Sex Lube by Healthy Vibes Lubricants
Price: $$$ |
Base Type: Water-Based |
Sex Toy Safe: Yes | TSA Travel Size: No |
Latex Safe: Yes | Great for: Sex toys, Anal sex, Vaginal sex, Masturbation |
Safety Features: Paraben-Free, Glycerin Free, Oil-Free, FDA Approved, Easy to clean | Features: Pump top, Slick, Long-lasting, Non-Staining, Odorless, Flavorless |
Much like lube, sex toys can be a crucial component of your masturbation arsenal. The trouble is, since a large number of sex toys are made out of silicone, using them with oil or silicone-based lubes is a huge no-no, as you'll probably end up damaging the toy, or damaging yourself!
The only kind of lubricants you should be using with sex toys are ones that are water-based - and to that end, Healthy Vibes is our best water-based, sex-toy-friendly lube for 2024.
Designed to stay slick and not get tacky even over a long time, Healthy Vibes Water-Based Sex Lube is slightly thicker than other water-based lubes on the market. This not only makes it work with most sex toys but means both masturbation and penetration (including anal) are made both more comfortable and more pleasurable.
Being water-based, this lube isn't just sex toy-friendly, it can also be used with condoms allowing you to keep your sex safe. To add to this, it's also easy to clean, and won't leave stains on your sheets. It also stimulates the body's moisture production, which makes the whole experience even more slippery.
Though it does last quite a long time, after a while you will probably feel the lube getting a little tacky and sticky - this happens with every water-based lube. Luckily, they're easy to reactivate and make slippery again - just add more lube, or even a little bit of water or spit in a pinch.
Healthy Vibes Water-Based lube is not only great for both vaginal and anal sex, it's also the best choice for those who love to incorporate sex toys into their masturbation and stamina training.
Results From Our Testers
- Very slippery, especially for a water-based formula
- Texture is thick and feels quite premium
- The bottle makes it easy to portion out the lube
- Gets tacky after a while but it's easy to reactivate
- Easy to clean and doesn't leave stains

System JO H2O Warming Water-Based Lube for Sex
Price: $$$ | Base Type: Water-Based |
Sex Toy Safe: Yes | TSA Travel Size: Yes |
Latex Safe: Yes | Great for: Masturbation, Anal sex, Vaginal sex |
Safety Features: FDA-Approved, Taste-Free, Fragrance-Free, Hypoallergenic | Features: Warming sensation, Slick, Long-lasting, Non-Staining |
Warming lube is an interesting concoction designed to literally heat up your sex and masturbation, which can add to both the realism and the pleasure. System JO's warming water-based lube is our best warming lube for 2024 due to its moisturizing, silky formula, as well as its pleasant heat.
Though it's water-based, this lube lasts a good while before getting tacky and needing to be reactivated. It also gets very slippery, probably in part due to the safe, plant-based glycerin in its formula. Additionally, the water-based formula means it's compatible with both sex toys and condoms, meaning you're free to use it how you see fit.
Once you apply the lube it can take up to a minute for the heat to kick in, but once it does, it feels really nice.
It's a unique feeling that might not be for everyone, but in our experience, it really does help increase the pleasure - we'd recommend everyone tries it at least once.
We do want to point out that different reviewers around the internet had varied experiences with the warming qualities of this lube. Some found it to work perfectly whereas some found it not to be as warming as they'd hoped. Some also found it to be too hot - though this is probably down to using it on sensitive or irritated skin, which we wouldn't recommend.
As we said earlier, our testers found it to warm up to a nice level without being either over or underwhelming, so the differences some reviewers found are probably down to individual differences in people, as well as expectations. Don't expect it to be boiling - just a gentle, comfortable warmth that makes your masturbation more satisfying.
Results From Our Testers
- The warming sensation feels good - not too hot, and not too underwhelming like some lubes
- Lasts fairly long before getting tacky but it still does after a while
- Takes a minute or two to properly heat up after applying
- Gets very slippery for a water-based lube
- Not really suitable for sensitive skin - we didn't have any issues, but reviewers elsewhere had problems
Pros and Cons
Jizz Flavored & Scented Water-Based Lube for Sex by Master Series
Price: $$$$$ |
Base Type: Water-Based |
Sex Toy Safe: Yes | TSA Travel Size: No |
Latex Safe:Yes | Great for: Cum fantasies, Visual stimulation, Masturbation, Perfect addition to squirting sex toys |
Safety Features: Body-safe, Easy to clean | Features: Cum-like appearance, taste, and smell, Ultra slick, Long-lasting, Non-Staining |
Flavored lubes can be a good way to spice up sex and masturbation by adding interesting scents and flavors to the mix. Jizz lubes do this in a specific way - by imitating the look, taste, and smell of semen, while also giving the visual of a massive load.
Master Series Jizz Flavored and Scented lube combines these two features, making it our best-flavored masturbation lube for 2024.
We can confirm that this lube does indeed look, smell, and taste like real cum - and a lot of reviewers on our site agree. Fresh out of the bottle it's in a more concentrated state and is quite strong and a little artificial tasting and smelling, but once it's been warmed up and spread around with some stroking it gets a lot more natural.
As it's water-based, it works great with condoms as well as sex toys. This is partly where the visual appeal comes in - pairing it with a realistic, anatomically correct Fleshlight, or any other realistic stroker really, makes it possible to recreate happy endings from some of your favorite adult content, as well as fulfill any other cum fantasies you may have.
Generally, you don't want to be using flavored or scented lube if you have sensitive skin, so we can't recommend you do that.
Reviewers on our site, as well as our testers, didn't have any issues, but if you scour the internet you'll find some people who had unwanted experiences. This is a shame, but as always, safety first.
It does get tacky after a while like all water-based lube, but this is a good excuse to just apply a load more lube, which looks like you're involving a load more cum. Furthermore, it does seem to last longer than most water-based lubes, which is nice to see. It's also very easy to clean up when you're done enjoying all of your cum fantasies.
Results From Our Testers
- Really looks the part, adds a lot of visual stimulation
- Tastes and smells like real cum, but it's quite strong straight out of the bottle - this goes away after a while, but it might be worth diluting in some other water-based lube
- Quite easy to clean despite the appearance
- Nice and slick, takes a while to get tacky and is easy to reactivate when it does
- Pairs great with an anatomically correct stroker

"Love it! This lube looks, tastes, and feels like the real thing. It is very slick, and works great with toys. Easy to clean up, and doesn’t stain. Warm the bottle in a sink or bowl of hot water for the most realistic feel. Works great for facial photos! 😉 I will definitely be buying this again!

Lynk Pleasure Water-Based Sex Lube & Anal Lubricant
Price: $$$ |
Base Type: Water-Based |
Sex Toy Safe: Yes | TSA Travel Size: No |
Latex Safe: Yes | Great for: Masturbation, Sex toys, Vaginal sex, Anal sex |
Safety Features: Paraben-Free, Glycerin-Free, FDA-Approved, Easy to clean | Features: Slick, Long-lasting, Pump top, Designed to mimic body's natural lubricant, Non-Staining, Never gets sticky or tacky |
Our best straightforward water-based lube for 2024 is Lynk Pleasure's own original water-based sex and anal lube. Unlike a lot of water-based lubricants, it's cushioning enough to be used for anal - and to this day, it's also one of the most-reviewed and best-reviewed lubes on our site.
All those reviewers, as well as our testers, agree this this is some seriously slippery stuff. It's not quite as slippery as silicone-based lube, but it gets damn close - close enough to fool a lot of users in fact.
As it's water-based it does get a little tacky after a while, but it's nice and easy to reactivate, and you won't need to reactivate it for some time.
As we mentioned earlier, it's advertised as being perfect for anal thanks to the cushioning properties of its formula, which among other ingredients, contains safe glycerin. That's not to say it doesn't also work great for masturbation though - it actually pairs very well with tighter sex toys and anal strokers thanks to the cushioning it provides.
Lynk Pleasure's water-based lube is compatible with all kinds of sex toys and condoms, meaning you can apply a generous helping of it no matter what you're up to.
It's easy to clean up and doesn't leave stains thanks to its water-based nature, and it's a lot more slippery than most other water-based lubes on the market right now. As such, we reckon it's the best simple water-based lube on our site.
Results From Our Testers
- Very slippery for a water-based lube - almost as slippery as silicone
- Nice and cushioning, works great with tight strokers
- It's easy to clean up and doesn't leave any stains on sheets
- Unlike silicone, it still gets a little sticky and tacky after a while but it's easy to reactivate
- The formula feels really nice on the skin

Silicone-Based Sex Lube Black Label Lubricant by Healthy Vibes
Price: $$$$$ |
Base Type: Silicone-Based |
Sex Toy Safe: Yes (With hard sex toys, glass, wood, metal, and plastic only) | TSA Travel Size: No |
Latex Safe: Yes | Great for: Masturbation, Sex, Water play |
Safety Features: Paraben-Free, Glycerin-Free, Odorless Waterproof, FDA Approved | Features: Ultra long-lasting, Extremely slick, Never gets sticky or tacky, Stainless |
Healthy Vibes' super slick silicone-based lube is our pick for the best silicone lube for 2024. FDA-approved and made with only 3 ingredients, Black Label is one of the highest-quality silicone lubes on the market, and we found it to be an excellent choice for masturbation.
A lot of men have only ever used the more commonly available water-based lubes. If you've ever been interested in giving silicone lube a try, Black Label is a good place to start. This lube is waterproof, very slippery, and lasts a long time, all thanks to its silicone base. Additionally, it's also a good choice for anyone with sensitive skin or allergies, thanks to its simple body-safe formula.
A lot of men have only ever used the more commonly available water-based lubes. If you've ever been interested in giving silicone lube a try, Black Label is a good place to start.
Furthermore, Black Label is also compatible with condoms and latex. You can also use it with sex toys made from hard materials such as glass, metal, plastic, or wood - just keep it away from toys made from soft materials like jelly, rubber, or silicone.
The long-lasting nature of Black Label also makes it great for stamina training, as we found that it stays slick even through lengthier sessions. It's also super-concentrated, meaning even a small amount is enough to keep you going for ages - or as long as you can last at any rate.
Results From Our Testers
- It really is super slippery, even with a small amount
- Lasts a lot longer than water-based lubes which helps with the stamina training
- It's good that it's compatible with condoms and hard sex toys but it's a shame that this excludes most strokers
- Works well for massages as it's very moisturizing
- It's waterproof so it's good for water play but this does make it harder to clean up than water-based lube

Stroke 29 Male Masturbation Cream Lube by Gun Oil Lubricants
Price: $$$$ |
Base Type: Oil-Based |
Sex Toy Safe: No | TSA Travel Size: Yes |
Latex Safe: No | Great for: Masturbation |
Safety Features: Non-Toxic, Paraben-Free, Sulfate-Free | Features: Starts as a cream and turns into a slick liquid during use, Long-Lasting, Non-Greasy formula |
If you're serious about masturbation, an oil-based lube can be a great way of adding even more pleasure to your sessions. Thick, long-lasting, and capable of transferring your body heat, Stroke 29 Masturbation Cream is super slick, and we reckon it's the best oil-based lube for masturbation in 2024.
Stroke 29 actually starts out as a cream when it's fresh from the container and transforms into a thick oil once you start stroking. Made from Sweet Almond Oil as well as Aloe, this lube stays slippery for a long time, which makes it great for stamina training.
It's also gentle enough to mean you won't end up sore or irritated, and its skin-friendly ingredients mean it's a nourishing moisturizer, which is a nice bonus.
While its thick, cushioning nature makes it perfect for masturbation, remember that since Stroke 29 is oil-based, you shouldn't use it with condoms or sex toys. Additionally, it's best suited for external play, so avoid using it internally unless you really know what you're doing.
As we mentioned earlier, Stroke 29 warms up thanks to the combination of your body heat and friction. This ends up helping your masturbation sessions feel much closer to real sex - which can be beneficial for stamina training.
Results From Our Testers
- Once it's morphed from a cream into an oil it gets incredibly slick
- It does take a little while to fully transform but this isn't so bad
- Feels really nice on the skin, and it's very moisturizing
- Though it's very slick it doesn't feel too greasy which is nice
- It's a shame it isn't compatible with sex toys but that is to be expected from oil-based lube
Pros and Cons
Customer Reviews
"Love that is not messy. It's great and saves money on the more expensive silicone lubes. It never gets as slick as I'd like in a perfect world, but since that's my biggest complaint is not too shabby. The best is that you don't feel like you need to hose yourself down after."
TTony C.
"Smooth cream. Smooth cream best for self stroking. Let my 20 year old son know of the great product and he ordered himself a tube that week."

Boy Butter Original Oil-Based Cream Lube for Men
Price: $$$$ |
Base Type: Oil-Based |
Sex Toy Safe: No | TSA Travel Size: Yes |
Latex Safe: No | Great for: Beginners, Anal, Fisting, Masturbation, Stamina training |
Safety Features: Non-Toxic, Paraben-Free, Cleans off easily | Features: Slick and creamy formula, Long-Lasting, Moisturizing, Extra thick formula, Non-Staining, Non-Dripping |
If you're inexperienced when it comes to using lube to intensify your masturbation, it's always the best idea to go with something robust and reliable to ensure you have a good time. We found Boy Butter Original to fit this criteria thanks to its oil-based nature which allows it to last a long time and stay slick throughout.
Boy Butter's formula is based on coconut oil which has been homogenized into a cream. Once you've got some on your skin, it'll turn into a clear, thick oil that's as slick as you'd hope from an oil-based lube. Despite being quite thick, it feels nice and light, and its ingredients make it very moisturizing.
Additionally, though this lube is oil-based, it washes off a lot easier than most oil and silicone-based lube. Depending on how much you use, you might get away with just using a bit of water to clean up - but if you've got a lot of it everywhere, a little soap won't go amiss. We weren't left scrubbing for ages though, which is sometimes the case with non-water-based lubes.
Boy Butter's formula is based on coconut oil which has been homogenized into a cream.
The usual caveats of oil-based lube do apply here, of course. It's not compatible with latex condoms, and we wouldn't recommend using it with sex toys either. If you're a beginner though, this might not be much of a problem as your sex toy collection probably won't be so huge. While it's a shame you can't slather some on a Fleshlight, it's not worth the hassle and, to be fair, this is the same with every oil-based lube.
As this lube lasts a very long time, it is a great choice for anyone looking into stamina training, especially if you're interested in longer sessions. The long-lasting slickness and reliability of Boy Butter make it our best lube for beginners in 2024.
Results From Our Testers
- After applying the cream it gets very slick fairly quickly
- Feels nice and light on the skin even though the consistency is thick
- Coconut oil feels nice on the skin and is very moisturizing - it's also easy to clean off compared to other oil-based lubes
- We would've liked to use it with a stroker but unfortunately, it's oil-based
- Very reliable for masturbation as well as stamina training
Pros and Cons
Fuck Water Lube Original Hybrid Water-Based Sex Lubricant
Price: $$$ |
Base Type: Hybrid (Water + Silicone) |
Sex Toy Safe: Yes (Non-silicone toys only) | TSA Travel Size: Yes |
Latex Safe: Yes | Great for: Masturbation, Stamina training, Cum fantasies, Visual stimulation |
Safety Features: Paraben-Free, Glycerin-Free | Features: Very slick, Very long-Lasting, Cum-Like appearance, Thick cream morphs into slick oil as you stroke |
Hybrid lubes are lubes made from a mixture of the usual ingredients, and as such they can have a mixture of benefits. Fuck Water is a water-based lube with a tiny added dash of silicone, which makes it last a lot longer than most water-based lube, while also being more cushioning - this is why it's our best multi-purpose lube for 2024.
That dash of silicone adds a lot to the slipperiness of this lube - it really does feel a lot slicker than water-based lube, and it lasts a lot longer before needing to be reapplied as well.
It's still not quite as slick or long-lasting as pure silicone or oil-based lube, but it's definitely a lot better than pure water-based on those fronts.
As it's mostly water-based, it's compatible with more sex toys than pure silicone lube, which is great as the majority of silicone lubes are not. However, we still wouldn't use it with silicone toys. While some reviewers online claim that it works fine, we don't think it's worth potentially damaging an expensive toy.
If you really want to try it though, apply a small amount to the base of your toy to make sure it's ok. It is however compatible with latex and condoms without issue.
One benefit of this hybrid water+silicone lube is that it's a little easier to clean than regular silicone-based lube. You'll probably still need a bit of soap to get it off the sheets but you won't have to scrub quite as intensely as if it was a pure silicone or oil-based lube.
An extra bonus about Fuck Water is that the added silicone lends the lube a creamy white color, which allows it to double as a cum lube. This is great for visual stimulation, and it's nice that it lasts longer than most cum lubes which are water-based.
Results From Our Testers
- The silicone makes it nice and slippery - more so than water-based, but not quite as slick as pure silicone
- The silicone also makes it look like a cum lube - great for visual stimulation and cum fantasies
- It's easier to clean up than most silicone-lubes thanks to it being mostly water-based
- It lasts longer than most water-based lubes before it needs reapplying or reactivating
- It would've been nice to see more silicone sex-toy compatibility as it's mostly water-based
Pros and Cons
How to choose the best masturbation lube for you

1. Think of what type of masturbation you'll use it for
Most men will think of their penis when they hear the word "masturbation", but jerking off isn't the only way cis men can masturbate; there's also anal masturbation to consider. The anus contains a whole load of nerve endings, and of course, you can't forget the prostate!
If you're interested in anal masturbation, it can be a good idea to choose a lube that is extra slippery to eliminate as much friction as possible. Stroke 19 and Boy Butter are incredible lube for anal sex and even fisting, and as such provide the ideal amount of cushioning. They are both oil-based though, so unless you know what you're doing with these types of lubes, it's not recommended that you use them internally.
Silicone lubes are a little more beginner friendly, and are still a lot more slippery and comfortable than water-based lubes, so Healthy Vibes Silicone-based is also a great choice for anal play.
One of the issues with silicone lube however is that it can't be used with every sex toy - only those made from hard materials like glass, wood, or metal. Using a sex toy such as a Fleshlight is another amazing method of masturbation, but a lot of them are made from soft materials like silicone or rubber, so risk being damaged if used with silicone lube. Using oil-based lube with sex toys is also a bad idea, as it can also destroy the toy.
If you're looking to masturbate with a sex toy, opt for something water-based such as Healthy Vibes Water-based, or a hybrid lube that you're certain is sex-toy friendly. Always check the label!
If you're just in the mood for some good ol' hands-on penis action, any of the lubes on this list are a super choice, so it all comes down to personal preference. Why not try out Wicked Sensual's Crème Masturbation Cream to find out why we rank it best overall?

2. Understand the different types of lubricants (and their ingredients)
Understanding the different types of lubes and all their benefits and drawbacks is the key to choosing the right one for your masturbation needs, and also helps you avoid the risks that come from using the wrong lube at the wrong time!
Water-Based Lube
The most common kind of lube. Very versatile - can be used with latex, condoms, and most sex toys. It feels light and gentle, making it great for people with sensitive skin. Easy to clean up, and won't stain sheets. It needs reapplying (or being reactivated with spit) fairly often, otherwise, it can get sticky and tacky.
- Best for: Using with sex toys and condoms
Silicone-Based Lube
Very slick and long-lasting. Safe for internal use, as it isn't absorbed by the body. It feels very luxurious but is harder to clean than water-based lube. Compatible with most hard sex toys (made from glass, metal, wood, etc) but not every soft sex toy (made from silicone, rubber, jelly, etc), so always check the label, or test a small patch on a toy before use. It is compatible with most condoms and is also waterproof.
- Best for: Longer sessions of sex and masturbation
Oil-Based Lube
Also incredibly slick and long-lasting. It is NOT compatible with latex condoms, or sex toys, and is not always safe for internal use as this can lead to infections. Perfect for external uses including masturbation and sensual massages. It is also waterproof, but harder to clean than water-based lube.
- Best for: External use - things like penis masturbation and massages
Hybrid Lube
A mixed lube, usually comprised of mostly water, with a small amount of silicone or oil. Usually more slippery and long-lasting than pure water-based, but can have more drawbacks depending on the ingredients - always check the label.
- Best for: Situations where water-based lube isn't slippery or long-lasting enough
Organic Lube
Made from natural and organic ingredients. This has been growing in popularity in recent years due to its organic nature, and how many of its ingredients are better for people with sensitive skin. It has similar drawbacks to oil-based lube - always check the label for directions of use.
- Best for: People with sensitive skin or those who like to shop organically
Warming/Tingling Lube
Provides tantalizing new sensations, such as heat or a pleasant tingling, wherever it is applied. This often increases arousal as well as pleasure. Can contain ingredients bad for people with sensitive bodies.
- Best for: Ramping up arousal and pleasurable sensations
Flavored Lube
This lube comes in various unique flavors, which can add a tasty twist to oral sex. Can also contain ingredients that are bad for people with sensitive bodies.
- Best for: Spicing up oral sex
Please always bear in mind that lube (especially warming, tingling, and flavored lube) can sometimes contain ingredients that may be harmful to people with sensitive skin or bodies. This includes, but is not limited to, ingredients such as glycerine (or other sugar alcohols), flavorings, colorings, and essential oils. Make sure you check the label to know exactly what's in any lube you're interested in using.
3. Make sure it's compatible with your sex toys (if you use them)
We've mentioned this a few times already, but it's worth repeating: some lubes are not compatible with sex toys. Oil-based lubes are basically never sex-toy friendly as they coat the material, which can be extremely hard to clean, and even cause bodily infections. Oil can also damage silicone and other soft sex toys.
Water-based lubes are the best choice for use with sex toys and can be used with most of them.
Silicone-based lube is also a little dubious when it comes to sex toys. It's generally fine to use with toys made from hard materials such as wood, metal, glass, or plastic but can cause problems with softer materials like silicone and rubber. This isn't always the case though - if in doubt, always check the label, and test a little bit on a small area of your toy to ensure it doesn't get damaged.
Water-based lubes are the best choice for use with sex toys and can be used with most of them. You might have to reapply the lube or use some spit to reactivate it after a while, but you can rest assured your toy won't get damaged, and neither will your body! If you enjoy incorporating sex toys into your masturbation, we recommend Healthy Vibes Water-based lube.
4. Only buy lube specifically meant for sex and masturbation
It's always the safest option to choose a lubricant specifically designed for sex - leave the cooking oil in the kitchen! Seriously though, always ensure that whatever lube you're buying to use during sex is made for sex before anything else. We can't stress this enough: always check the label! It's the best way to avoid getting left with a nasty infection and is just plain common sense.
