Condoms are one of the most widely used products on Earth and therefore has many different types and options. Below we have listed the most common types of condoms available.

• Latex condoms - The most commonly used type of condom. These come lubricated or without lubrication.
• Plastic or Lambskin Condoms - These are the most common type of condoms for those who have a latex allergy. These types of condoms typically do not come pre-lubricated.
• Spermicidal Condoms - These are condoms that are designed to kill sperm on contact as an added level of protection against unwanted pregnancy. The active ingredient in the spermicide is nonoxynol-9, a body-safe ingredient that can potentially irritate your genitals.
• Textured & Added Sensation Condoms - These types of condoms typically have ribs, nubs, or other textures that cover the outside of the condom. This gives added sensations to the person receiving the penetration. Added sensation condoms might also have tingling or stimulating lubricant that can cool, warm, or provide other types of sensations.

You can use lubricant with condoms but there is a caveat. Latex condoms can only be used with a water-based or silicone-based lubricant. Any petroleum or oil-based lubricant will degrade the latex and cause them to rip or tear. Never use an oil-based lubricant with latex condoms.

If you are using Lambskin or other synthetic condoms, you can use any type of lubricant without worrying about ruining the condom.

Using condoms on penetrating sex toys is a very common practice among users. Most of the time you would want to use a condom on a toy if you plan on sharing the toy or are worried about bacteria and other hygiene-related issues that might come with using a sex toy.

Condoms also help users who have a toy that they might be allergic to. Just make sure you are not allergic to latex as well.
